Get Sirius for your machineLinuxWindows.

Free to download and use — you bring your own model keys. Every asset is built by the release pipeline, attested, and carries a sha256 beside it. Downloads come from dl.siriuside.com; GitHub keeps the archival copy.

Linux

x64 · arm64 · glibc 2.28 or newer

Arch Linux recommended on Arch

Add the Sirius repository to /etc/pacman.conf, then install like any package. Updates arrive with pacman -Syu; the release itself publishes each tag to the repository. x86_64 only for now — on aarch64 use the tarball.

[sirius]
SigLevel = Optional
Server = https://dl.siriuside.com/arch/$arch
sudo pacman -Syu sirius-ide-bin

Or install the package directly: sirius-ide-bin-1.118.8-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst 146 MBsha256 b3c0a3b8f424ffbbf37f502e39ee0f0b4b8b845a29916e1c14c7816fd1cdf455

Debian, Ubuntu .deb

The package is named sirius and carries a build stamp in its version, so the glob below is deliberate. It adds no third-party apt repository or key to your system; update by installing a newer package, or let the editor tell you when one exists. The arm64 package needs Debian 11, Ubuntu 20.04 or newer.

sudo apt install ./sirius_*_amd64.deb # x86_64
sudo apt install ./sirius_*_arm64.deb # arm64 / aarch64

Any Linux tarball

Built against a glibc 2.28 sysroot; arm64 additionally needs GCC 9's libstdc++ (GLIBCXX 3.4.26). The editor notifies you of updates and opens this page. Unpacks to VSCode-linux-x64 or VSCode-linux-arm64.

tar -xzf sirius-linux-x64.tar.gz
./VSCode-linux-x64/bin/sirius
tar -xzf sirius-linux-arm64.tar.gz
./VSCode-linux-arm64/bin/sirius

For a menu entry, INSTALL.md shows the desktop file to drop in place.

Remote server sirius-server

The headless half a remote extension installs on the machine you connect to, x64 and arm64, needing glibc 2.28 and GLIBCXX 3.4.25 or newer. product.json points remote extensions at these tarballs; to place one yourself, unpack it on the host and run bin/sirius-server.

Windows

x64 · Windows 10 or newer

Installer

SmartScreen will warn on first run. The installer is not code-signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway. You can verify the file first — see how to verify. Signing is on the roadmap.

Windows: the editor downloads the new installer in the background and runs it when you restart.

macOS

not yet

The packaging exists, but a macOS release needs an Apple Developer certificate for signing and notarisation; without it Gatekeeper refuses the app. Follow the issue on GitHub to hear when it ships. Linux and Windows builds are above.

How to verify a download

Every asset has a .sha256 sidecar beside it on the release, and every asset is attested with GitHub's build provenance, which ties the bytes to the exact workflow run and commit that produced them.

sha256sum -c sirius-linux-x64.tar.gz.sha256
gh attestation verify sirius-linux-x64.tar.gz --owner sirius-ide

The sidecars and commit.txt are on the GitHub release.

How updates reach you

How you installedHow it updates
Sirius pacman reposudo pacman -Syu — the release updates the repository itself
.deb / .rpmInstall a newer package
TarballThe editor notifies you and opens this page
Windows installerDownloads in the background, installs on restart

On Linux the editor notifies rather than replacing itself, because a package installed by your distribution is not the editor's to overwrite. The update check sends the platform, channel and build commit — no identifier for you or your machine.

After installing

Sirius needs a model. Either add a provider key — Ctrl+Shift+P, Sirius: Set API Key; keys go to your system keyring — or run models locally with nothing leaving your machine:

ollama serve
ollama pull qwen3

Sirius finds a running Ollama automatically; LM Studio, llama.cpp and vLLM work the same way. Pick a model in the chat input, or with Sirius: Select AI Model. The getting-started guide takes it from there.
